Our History
Refrigeration Unlimited was founded in 1993 by Rick Patrick and Kurt Knutz. The company has grown steadily over the past 20 years. Now with dozens of employees in four service regions across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska, we have become the solutions partner of choice for many clients large & small. Our company is built on providing a quality service judged by the eyes of our customers. What separate us from every other contractor is our professional people and extensive knowledge in commercial refrigeration, HVAC planning, consulting, design, installation and service. Although RUI was built on refrigeration, customers have driven us in to high voltage electrical, EMS controls, industrial refrigeration and general contracting.

Adam Knutz
President
Adam Knutz was born in Oregon State and moved in 1990 to Seattle when his father decided to start Refrigeration Unlimited. Since 2008, Adam has been heavily involved in the success of RUI by fulfilling roles as Project Engineer, Project Manager, VP, and currently President. His mechanical background and focus on customer relationships continues to build on the success of RUI. Adam received his Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering with an emphasis on Mechanical principals at Western Washington University. Adam continues to build a team atmosphere through day to day operations and stays sharp by attending refrigeration conferences worldwide.
